The West Central Region is continuously seeking motivated and hard-working
people for both Clerical/Support and Professional level positions within our Operations departments.
Clerical / Support
Most of our Clerical/Support openings are located at our Regional Office,
located at 222 South 84th Street, Lincoln, NE 68501. However, we do have similar needs
in our Claims Service Centers, located throughput our four state region.

Professional
State Farms professional positions provide people with an opportunity to serve our customers
in many different capacities. These opportunities lie in three entry-level
positions, which provide a solid background in the insurance industry and
specifically how State Farm services the products it sells.
The three positions include:
Claim Representative Trainee - When a policyholder experiences a loss, a claim representative becomes involved.
Men and women in these jobs investigate losses to buildings, vehicles,
personal belongings, and injuries to people. They then analyze and evaluate
the damages resulting from thes losses. Based on the coverage available
from the insurance policy and the insured's liability, they will either
settle or deny the claims being presented.
New claim representatives must pass a training school at Corporate Headquarters
during their first year on the job. Training continues through additional seminars,
schools, and on-the-job training. This extensive training is to provide top-quality
service to our policyholders, and provide a basis for development of future
management personnel.
Claim Representative Trainee positions are located throughout our four-state
region in our Claim Service Centers, as well as our Regional Office in Lincoln, NE.

Underwriter Trainee - When a State Farm agent writes an application for insurance, it's reffered
to an underwriter. The underwriter is the primary regional office contact for the agent.
The underwriter provides technical assistance, confirms the accuracy of insurance
applications, and ensures prompt policy issuance. The underwriter evaluates
the application for potential hazards and risk factors and decides if it should
be accepted, modified, or rejected.
Underwriters analyze information and make a judgement based on that information.
They need to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. In any given
day, they may communicate with agents, policyholders, banks, or state insurance dpartments.
Extensive training helps individuals develop these skills and learn to apply
the required procedeures. This training includes Corporate Headquarter
schools, on-the-job training, and seminars. The training allows the Underwriter to
provide top-quality service to our policyholders, and provides a basis for
development of future management development.
Underwriter Trainee positions are located in our West Central Regional Office in Lincoln, NE.
Agency Specialist - Developmental Trainee - While State Farm agents are independent contractors, they have the assistance
support of a specific Agency Field Office in reference to their geographical
location within the West Central Region. Within these offices are Agency Specialists,
who help create, develop, administer, and maintain group and individual
systems training for agents and their staff.
Specifically, they develop and/or administer training sessions for agents and their staff to
keep them abreast of technical changes and product developments. To provide this service to
our agency force, Agency Specialists participate in company and industry
training sessions on a continuing basis, and/or as technology in computer
systems warrant.
In addition, they plan and conduct field meetings, determine the needs for agent and staff
training, solve system problems and questions, and write articles and other
communications on system/product developments for publications.
Agency Specialists must have strong communication skills, both verbal and written,
along with strong training abilities.
This position provides an opportunity, for people with a strong/definite
interest in becoming a State Farm agent in the future, to learn various agent functions
and the systems and products which an agent utilizes to provide
top-quality service to our customers.
Agency Specialist - Developmental Trainee positions are located throughout our
four-state region in our Agency Field Offices, located in:

Internships - Our Summer Intern Program provides students, completing their Sophomore
or Junior year in college, an opportunity to work and gain valuable business
exposure in the insurance industry. It gives meaningful summer employment
to student interns, plus an opportunity to save money for Fall schooling.
It also builds a "two-way street" for State Farm management and the intern to
examine mutual interest in future career employment with State Farm.
The internships are offered in Claims and Underwriting. Claims internships are
located throughout our four-state region, while Underwriting internships are located
at our Regional Office in Lincoln, NE.
The interns will recieve an orientation to State Farm and the insurance industry.
On the job, they will become familiar with their departments role within
the company. Throughout the program they will gain insight into the duties
and responsibilities of various functions within their department.
Where possible, the interns will be assigned sole responsibility
for special projects to be completed during the internship period.
Compensation includes a salary of $9.95 an hour.
