Company Information Novartis Consumer Health, Inc. is a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility that started business in 1908 as the Smith-Dorsey Company; becoming Dorsey Laboratories, a division of the Wander Company in the late 1950s; and merging with Sandoz Ltd. in the late 1960s to become Sandoz Pharmaceuticals Corporation. In December 1996 Sandoz Ltd. and Ciba-Geigy Ltd. merged to form Novartis AG, a world leader in the life sciences with pharmaceuticals, generics, consumer health, CIBA Vision, and animal health divisions. Novartis has over 15,000 associates in the United States and over 67,000 worldwide. The primary focus of the Lincoln facility is to produce high-quality over-the-counter pharmaceutical products for distribution within the United States. It is the primary manufacturer for Novartis Consumer Health, with manufacturing and packaging factories for solids, liquids, and semi-solid dosage forms; quality assurance laboratories; search and development laboratories; and various support functions (finance, materials management, project engineering, engineering operations, safety/security/environment and human resources). Lincoln is also the site of a nationwide distribution center for Novartis Consumer Health. Some of the products manufactured and packaged at this location include the TRIAMINIC line of cough and cold products; MAALOX Liquid and Tablets; the TAVIST line; ASCRIPTIN; and LAMISIL Cream. With nearly 500 associates at the Lincoln facility, growth is expected over the next few years as additional production is added.
