State of Nebraska - Personnel Division


HOW TO APPLY:

A State application form is required. An electronic application can be completed by going to https://www.nebraska.gov/wrk4neb/jobapp/. Resumes are encouraged and can be attached (as a word document) to the on-line application.

Additional requirements and/or requests for transcripts, writing samples, supplemental questionnaires, or other items will be included in the advertisement and must be received or postmarked on or by the closing date.

Things to Keep in Mind When Applying

  • Resume--Prefer scanable quality or text-only document
  • Cover letters are accepted and should be directed toward a specific position. They will accompany your materials to the hiring agency and are not maintained in your permanent record.
  • BE SURE to include your name and Social Security Number on additional items submitted.

Please allow three to four weeks after the job closes to find out if you will be interviewed. The hiring agency will contact you directly to schedule an interview time.

IMPORTANT REMINDER
Please remember that when a vacancy has an "OPEN" closing date, it means that applications are reviewed as people apply AND the vacancy may close at any time. Therefore, you should apply for desired positions as quickly as possible.

Once you submit a State application form, you may use that same form for other state vacancies. It is not necessary to fill out a new application each time. Go to https://www.nebraska.gov/wrk4neb/jobapp/add/ to complete the Applicant Referral Form, or call 402.471.2075 to activate your application. Be prepared to provide the position number associated with the opening.
