On November 1, 1997, Lincoln General Hospital and Bryan Memorial Hospital merged
to form BryanLGH Medical Center. The merger represents an exciting time of growth for our organization as we
transition to become one hospital operating at two locations. The following statement and philosophy will guide our transition teams as they plan and work.
Vision Statement for the Transition
To improve the delivery of health care to the citizens of Lincoln and the region and also to strengthen Lincoln's position as a regional medical referral center by building
on the strengths of each hospital as we create a new organization which will:
- Enhance existing and develop new centers of excellence
- Enhance quality of care
- Lower costs of care
- Enhance access to care
Philosophy of the Transition
To work as one to combine the strengths of each hospital in order to be the best we can be in terms of quality of care, access to care and operating efficiency. As we bring the existing two hospitals together
operating as one medical center at two locations, we will respect each individual employee's contribution, value teamwork to achieve our vision, take
time to build trust, promote doing the right things for the right reasons, and
focus on our unique opportunity to improve health care for all we serve.
