HWS is a consulting firm offering services in civil and environmental engineering. Founded in 1944 as a small municipal engineering firm, HWS has expanded into a regional engineering practice serving Clients all across the United States. We are a firm of more than 100 employees, with such diverse backgrounds as civil and environmental engineering, geology and hydrogeology, environmental science, computer technology, surveying, and materials testing. The MISSION of HWS is a key part of who we are and what we hope to do. We serve people's needs as professional engineering and environmental consultants to improve the quality of life. HWS and our Clients achieve solutions through service. We realize our success comes from listening to what our Clients want, and helping them interpret the needs of their constituents or customers. It also comes from producing results which meet quality standards and are within acceptable time frames and budgets. HWS provides a wide variety of civil and environmental engineering services from our five offices in Nebraska, Illinois, Colorado, and Kansas. Our Wide Area Network provides connectivity between all of our offices. Our use of Internet mail and FTP capabilities allow HWS to provide seamless service to our Clients, regardless of geographic location. HWS has emphasized the careful selection and training of those who join our firm. We strive to find talented individuals who will have success in our organization, resulting in a "win/win" situation for the individual and the firm. We particularly seek individuals who have good ethical standards, and who will be "Client Service oriented". Our 60-year record of service has shown a significant stability in the HWS workforce. We have had many employees with 20, 25, 30, and even 40 years of continuous employment. HWS also believes in recognizing employees for their accomplishments.
