24-Hour Emergency Service and Repair
Commonwealth Electric Company service crews have round the clock availability.
We maintain a reliable after-hours dispatching system to ensure you receive a
prompt response from our mobile units. Each crew is equipped to handle all

Emergency Systems
We install fire alarm, emergency and exit lighting systems, and security,
warning and notification systems. We also have crews that are specialists in
the installation of uninterruptable power systems (UPS). Our servicemen can
perform the testing, maintenance and repairs that will ensure the dependable
operation of your present generator or battery UPS.
Lighting and Traffic Signals
Commonwealth Electric installs and maintains everything from traffic lights at
busy intersections to flashers at school crossings. We have also installed and
maintain hundreds of miles of street lighting. Our service department installs
and repairs commercial, industrial, parking lot, sport field and security
lighting systems. Commonwealth Electric crews have set up lighting and power
for some of the Midwest's most enjoyable outdoor concerts, street dances,
civic activities and sporting events! Crews have telescopic bucket truck
capabilities to 65' and a Tel-Ex digger to augur holes from 12" to 36" in
diameter.
Electrical Maintenance and Technical Services
Our rigorous preventive maintenance program includes infrared scanning that
detects areas in need of service, complete with follow-up photos and reports.
Our technical services department can provide power quality assessment that
encompasses power factor and energy demand monitoring and harmonic distortion

The Commonwealth service department can upgrade and retrofit existing lighting
with energy saving ballasts and lamps that will lower your monthly electrical

Cable Installation
Our expertise in cabling systems for data processing and communications
includes the installation and documented testing of all specialty cables and

Electrical Design/Build
Commonwealth has substantial experience in electrical design/build projects
from concept through construction. By utilizing computer assisted drawing
(CAD), we can produce working drawings for all phases of the installation and
a complete set of as-built drawings at the completion of the project. Our
