The City of Lincoln and Lancaster County offer a wealth of challenging employment opportunities. With nearly 600 different job classifications,
the City and County offer administrative, professional, technical, clerical
and maintenance positions.

How do I know which positions are open?
Every Friday, after 5pm, a new list of current openings is posted to the public on the City / County website - lincoln.ne.gov - and enter the Key Word: jobs . Those current openings are also posted to the public
in the City/County Employment Office and the Lincoln public libraries.
The Job Line: 402-441–7736 is also updated every Friday evening at 5pm with a voice recording and brief description for each of the job openings.
How do I apply for jobs with the City or the County?
On-line! The application process for City/County positions is now an on-line program. Log onto the website, click on “ Apply Now ” for the position of your choice. Click on “ MyInterlinc ”, then, click on “ Join Now ”. Assign yourself a user I.D. and password and complete the other required information. For repeat applicants, just enter your user I.D. and password to proceed. Record the I.D. and password as you will need to remember them for future access to your application. Complete each section of the electronic application and the program will lead you into the supplemental questions for you to answer for that specific position. Once completed, click on “Submit Application Now”, click on “I Agree”, and you should get
on-screen confirmation in red lettering, “Application has been submitted”.

“e-Notification”
You now have the option of being notified regarding specific positions as they become available to the public. You must have an e-mail address to which the notifications can be sent. Once notified, you can apply on-line.

How do I know if I will get an interview?
All information on the application and supplemental questions must be completed in detail; listing education, experience, skills, knowledge and abilities. Double check your application and supplemental questions for accuracy before it is submitted on-line. Many applicants miss a chance for an interview due to a lack of detail.
Please allow up to 3 weeks after the closing date of a position with regards to an interview. The top candidates are referred to the department with the opening and will be contacted accordingly for an interview. The remaining applicants will receive an e-mail or a letter by U.S. Mail with notification that they have not been referred at that time.
The Employment Office screens all applications and the job-specific supplemental questions for each position after the closing date. The applications and supplemental questions are reviewed to make sure each applicant meets the minimum qualifications for each job and answers to the supplemental questions will be weighed. Those applicants with the highest scores become the top candidates.
